Weekly Learning Review

Class:    FS1          Week Ending:  26 October
Communication, Language and Literacy
This week we talked about healthy and unhealthy food. We also discussed why it is important for us to eat healthily.
We also talked about our family members and how we love our families.
In Literacy, the children learned about the letter n and the sound it makes “nnnnn”. We also identified some words that start with the letter (nose, necklace, numbers, nine, net, nest, etc).
We also learned the jolly phonic song for the new letter
 “Hear the aeroplane nnnnnnnnnnhear the aeroplanennnnnnnnMaking lots of noise.”

Physical Development
We are continuing to work on developing proper finger grip when tracing.
We continually focus on developing healthy diet and healthy habits throughout the day (washing hands, walking inside the school, holding the rail, walking in a line, etc)
We continued to encourage fine motor skills by asking the children to cut and glue.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Children enjoyed listening to music and dancing, marching and jumping.
We talked about how the combination of music and motion can lead to an emotional response;  making one feel happy or sad.
Mathematics
We continued with learning about the number 3 ,Colour (green ) and
Shape (triangle).
Expressive Art and Design
The children have enjoyed themselves painting, using glitter to decorate different creative artwork and exploring different art media.
Understanding of the World

This week, we talked about our family members and how we love our families.  Children have had fun talking about their family members and singing different songs.
